World Day for Safety and Health at Work 2018
Every April 28, the World Day for Safety and Health at Work is held. This year is focused on a safe and healthy generation. At Abengoa, we could not miss this appointment and join this day, as we are convinced that the first and most important thing is people.
The International Labor Organization (ILO) holds the World Day for Safety and Health at Work every 28th of April with the aim of promoting the prevention of accidents in the workplace and occupational diseases worldwide. This is an awareness campaign whose objective is to focus attention on the international level on new trends in this field.
“World Day for Safety and Health at Work 2018 aims to improve the safety and health of young workers and end child labour.
This year, the World Day for Safety and Health at Work has been joined in a joint campaign with the World Day against Child Labour to improve the safety and health of young workers and end child labour. This will be done through a concerted and integrated approach that contributes to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goal number 8 (to nclusive and sustainable economic growth, employment and decent work for all) and collaborate, thus, to the elimination of child labour and to the promotion of a culture of prevention in matters of occupational safety and health.
The celebration of the World Day for Safety and Health at Work is part of the ILO’s global strategy on occupational safety and health, which promotes a culture of safety and health prevention for all the parties involved. In many parts of the world, national authorities, trade unions, workers’ organizations and professionals in this sector organize various activities to celebrate this date.
