Private collaboration with educational institutions
Developments in renewable energy and its impact on the environment has moved energy companies to endorse recurrent collaboration with educational institutions. We will review different forms of cooperation on this post which contribute to both social and ecological improvements.
Climate change and the resulting environmental care have propelled the level of commitment of private companies towards the search for solutions which serve to minimize the damage that we cause to the atmosphere. Among the potential actions, we find that educational institutions have become an ally for such companies and have a strong vocation in the area of research.
“Abengoa has signed a collaboration agreement with the Universidad Autónoma de Querétaro to provide a central tower for a solar field of heliostats.
The structure factory Comemsa, located in Querétaro (Mexico), recently signed a collaboration agreement with the Universidad Autónoma de Querétaro. This agreement covers the detailed design and supply of a hexagonal central tower, some 30 meters in height for a research solar field consisting of 20 heliostats, eachcontaining 16 mirrors, 1.44 meters in size.
“Most agreements promote the students’ talent and professional development.
In addition to collaboration in the areas of research and development, most agreements promote the students’ talent and professional development in a way that allows them to put all of the knowledge they acquire during their studies into practice. Moreover, these agreements may have a reverse variant which is geared towards continuous employee training programs, the main asset of organizations in institutions of international standing.
In this regard, Abengoa signed a framework collaboration agreement with the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) back in 2015, and its objective referred to both the research and development areas and the training of human resources.
Undoubtedly, educational institutions, from students to teachers, together with the support of the private sector form a key pair in the search for energy solutions que ensure a sustainable future for our planet in addition to social improvement.
